Everybody Stop
It was a hectic day in O’Hare. There were airplanes everywhere and predictably Ground Control was talking a mile a minute. Suddenly Ground says: “Everybody on my frequency – STOP.” The whole airport instantly became a parking lot. Everyone was wondering what was going on but the frequency was dead quiet. In the cockpit, we speculated on what had happened. Perhaps a fire in the control tower or worse – a threat of some kind. Thirty seconds later the controller said: “Thanks guys, I just needed a break – Everyone continue.” The ordered chaos resumed.
