Aren't You Going to Do Something
CLT-DEN on an old 727. It had the old pneumatic pressurization system and would require a lot of effort from the Flight Engineer to get the cabin down. Most of the time it also required something more from the engines than idle power. We had just left 310, and the Captain occasionally turned around expecting me to be working on the cabin, but I was just looking out the windows watching the world go by. I could tell the Captain was started to get frustrated. Finally around 25, he turned around and yelled: “Are you ever going to do something about the cabin?” I replied: “Don’t need to sir. The cabin has been at destination altitude for the last 3 hours.” All of a sudden, it clicked – Denver, the mile high city.
