The Good Samaritan

I was in between flights with nothing to do as a rather large woman in a wheelchair requested my assistance.  She explained that she had been waiting for a Sky Cap for some while and was worried that she might miss her flight.  I asked her where she was going then checked the monitors.  Since she was going out of a gate a short distance away, I volunteered to wheel her over there.  I took her ticket, got her boarding pass and asked the Agent if I could wheel her down to the Flight.  I had wheeled plenty of wheel chair customers up the jetway but never down and didn’t realize the significant difference.  I was feeling pretty good about myself as we started heading down the jetway.  The only trouble was that when we hit the first bump where the jetway sections join and pointed downward, the lady just slid out of the wheelchair and landed in a big heap.  In that brief moment I thought of the lawsuit.  After the lady landed she was initially dazed but then started to laugh.  Thankfully, I was dealing with a lady who has a sense of humor.
