The Chocolate Bar
I was just leaving the Training Center for the commute home. One of the Check Airman was assisting the fund raising efforts for his son’s organization and sold me one of those foot long chocolate bars. I put the bar in my back pocket and headed off for the airport for the two leg flight home. I rode the jumpseat from GSO to CLT on the first leg. After arrival, I was getting up to make my way to the next gate when the Captain asked me what in the world was all over the jumpseat. Horrified, I remembered the chocolate bar and tried to explain. By now the whole crew was laughing. That was bad enough but then it was pointed out that the back of my pants was coated with a rather suspicious looking brown substance. Unfortunately I didn’t have a change of clothes so I snuck out of the airplane and into the bathroom of the crew room. I spent a fair amount of time trying to wash the stain out of my pants so that I could make the next flight without driving all the passengers to other flights. A most embarrassing ordeal. The Captain still kids me about the event.
