Fun At Security
We have several pilots who are accomplished musicians. One First Officer often takes his trumpet with him on trips. On one occasion, he put his bags on the belt to be screened by security. As the trumpet case went into the x-ray machine, the screener stopped the belt, looked at the first officer, and said, "Is that a horn!?" The F/O replied, "Yes. I use it when we’re flying instruments."
