Every Trey is Out
MCI – DFW. It was about an hour flight with a meal service on a full 727. We were falling out of the sky and about to land in Dallas Ft. Worth when there was a knock on the door. Probably shouldn’t have but did open the door. There was a guy in a business suit. My first thoughts were panic, but the guy said “Don’t worry, I’m a crew member. Just thought you might want to know that every meal trey is still out.” I advised the Captain and we went around giving the Flight Attendants about 15 minutes to clean things up before landing. Turned out the senior Flight Attendant had 3 weeks with the airline. They were so far behind and so scared that we would get them fired that they hadn’t said anything. Ironically I still miss those days.
